"The Brave Little Toaster" Review

Title: The Brave Little Toaster Director: Jerry Rees Studio: Walt Disney Pictures Genre(s): Drama/Musical Rated: G When John Lasseter first pitched “The Brave Little Toaster” to Disney executives as a potential movie for him to direct, he was surprised to find his vision for a 2D animated movie with computer animated backgrounds was not met with much enthusiasm from the executives running the studio at the time. They felt that there was no reason to make a movie with computers if it didn’t result in the final product being made either faster or cheaper (ideally both). Lasseter was dismissed from the company that very day and he moved on to Pixar, where he would end up making another movie where toys secretly pined to be played with by humans (I’m assuming you all know what I’m talking about). Despite his dismissal from the project, Disney did end up financing “The Brave Little Toaster” and future Pixar alumni Joe Ranft even worked on the screenplay.

"Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie" Review

Title: Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie Director: James D. Rolfe, Kevin Finn Studio: Cinemassacre Genre(s): Comedy Rated: Not Rated If you look up any list of top internet sensations most lists would include something called Angry Video Game Nerd on them. The online series has been running for ten years and features the title Nerd character (creator and performer James D. Rolfe) who plays old video games that are considered terrible. The appeal of the series is that not only are the Nerd's antics funny in their own right, but the show actually doubles as a bit of sweet revenge for people who remembers buying these bad games and being ripped off. More than once I've watched the show with a friend, only to have to lean over and say “I'm ashamed to say that I used to own that game.” The show however is more like an extended skit show at times, and as “Saturday Night Live” has learned multiple times, that doesn't always translate to screen. "Oppenheimer" Review

Title: Oppenheimer Director: Christopher Nolan Starring: Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh Studio: Universal Pictures Genre(s): Drama Rated: R (For some sexuality, nudity and language) Science is a wonderful, cruel thing to behold. It is neither good nor bad, but it can be used for both. The opening shots of "Oppenheimer" show us pure science in motion. There is an explosion of some sort. It radiates and moves in ways that the human mind can not comprehend, and there is something intrinsically beautiful about it. There is also, undeniably, something dangerous about it, and as we will soon learn, this is how Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) visualizes the physics used to create the atomic bomb and make him "The Father of the Atomic Bomb."
